Diversity & Inclusion

We strongly believe in the power of diversity and inclusivity. For the past 4 years, we have partnered with the MAMA Youth Project, a scheme dedicated to training and supporting young people from underrepresented groups in the media industry. Through sponsorship, mentoring, and employment of MYP graduates – we aim to break down barriers and create a more inclusive workforce.

MYP focuses on individuals who have faced entry barriers such as low socio-economic backgrounds, disabilities, ethnic minority status, or limited education. Their training equips participants with the skills and experience needed for long-term employment in TV and media.

Working with MYP graduates brings vibrancy, skill, and enthusiasm to our team – enhancing our work environment. We are immensely proud of our relationship with MAMA Youth Project, as they have played a crucial role in our story so far.

Transparency and progress are important to us, which is why we use the Diamond Diversity Tool to track our workforce and drive improvements in diversity and inclusivity.

We are thrilled to be part of Channel 4's Paralympics Production Training Scheme, offering a unique opportunity for individuals to kickstart their TV careers. Participants receive comprehensive training through thinkBIGGER!'s TV Boot Camp, followed by ongoing monthly training before joining our team.

Sustainability

We have ambitious long-term targets for sustainability and we are fully committed to the reduction of the negative environmental impacts arising from TV production.

We champion and promote positive action to tackle climate change behind the camera as well as on screen. It is a priority to ensure all our programme making is environmentally sustainable. From pre-planning to final transmission, we are adopting ways to lower the carbon emissions without affecting its quality. We are fully committed to spreading sustainable values through the production supply chain.

We are proud to be BAFTA Albert affiliates and we aim to be Net Zero on all our direct emissions by 2030. We agree that we can't “offset” our way out of this problem but we are committed to making Buzz 16’s principal focus of tackling our greenhouse emissions at source and eliminating them there.

Nurturing nature's little superheroes

Did you know that the population of bees and other pollinating insects in the UK has significantly declined in the past 50 years? We are determined to put a stop to this decline.

In the UK, 90% of bees are solitary bees, meaning they don't have a hive to return to and rely on refuelling along their way. These bees play a crucial role in pollinating our crops, ensuring the health and productivity of plant communities – and ultimately supporting our birds and mammals by providing seeds, berries, and plants.

We have created wildflower seed packs for our staff and clients to take home and plant in their outdoor spaces. By doing so, we aim to create a welcoming environment for bees and other pollinators to travel through our towns and cities. Each pack contains enough wildflower seeds to cover 1m², attracting pollinators and providing them with sustenance for their journey.

Whether you have a garden, a balcony, a window box, or any outdoor space – planting these seeds will not only brighten up your surroundings but also contribute to the well-being of our buzzing friends.

Join us in nurturing nature's superheroes and making a positive impact on our ecosystem.
